Centris is the exclusive MLS (Multiple Listing Service) platform in Quebec, managed by real estate boards and accessible to OACIQ member real estate brokers.
How it works: - When a seller lists their property with an OACIQ broker, the listing is automatically shared on Centris with all members - Buyer brokers have access to complete data: price history, comparable sales statistics (Comps), average time-on-market for the area, etc. - The general public accesses a simplified version at centris.ca (less information than brokers)
Quebec vs other provinces distinction: - In Quebec, Centris is distinct from the Rest of Canada MLS system managed by CREA (Canadian Real Estate Association) - Properties without an OACIQ broker (private sales) do not appear on Centris — they are listed on DuProprio, Kijiji, or private sites
Importance for buyers: a real estate broker gives you access to all Centris data, including recent sales statistics for price negotiation.
