Multiple job income

Français : Revenus de plusieurs emplois

A borrower with two or more jobs can combine incomes for mortgage qualification, subject to each job's stability (generally 2 years history required for the second job).

Definition

When a borrower holds multiple simultaneous jobs, lenders can combine incomes for GDS/TDS calculation, subject to conditions:

- **Primary job**: accepted per normal rules (T4, employment letter, or T1 if variable) - **Secondary job (2nd job)**: most A-lenders require 2 years of history for the income to be counted. A recently started secondary job will often not be recognized. - **Two part-time jobs**: each must demonstrate 2-year stability to be combined.

Favorable exceptions: if both jobs are in the same professional field and the borrower can demonstrate logical progression, some lenders accept a shorter history.

Documentation: T4s from the last 2 years for each employer are required, plus recent pay stubs from both employers.
